Firearm instruction in Chicago Concealed Carry classes In Chicago

 

You are required to renew your Illinois Concealed Carry License every 5 years. If you’re license is about to expire then you will need to take the 3 hour renewal course in order to renew your license with the Illinois State Police.

This class covers the curriculum required by the Illinois State Police for renewal of your Illinois Concealed Carry License. You are required to re-qualify at the range. The remainder of the class covers a refresher of the law portion of the Concealed Carry Act.

You will need to qualify on this day. You will need your firearm and a box of 50 rounds of ammunition. Bring your hearing and eye protection. Range qualification conducted at Article 2 Range in Lombard, IL 60148. We will meet first at Article 2 range and then finish off at our classroom.

We will cover:

 

The Act relating to the ownership, storage, carry and transportation of a firearm

1) with emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/10(h) which includes instruction on the appropriate and lawful interaction with law enforcement while transporting or carrying a

concealed firearm.

2) with emphasis on 430 ILCS 66/65 which includes instruction on prohibited areas and the parking lot exception.

b. The FOID Act 430 ILCS 65/1 et. seq.

c. Relevant portions of the ILCS including but not limited to

1) 720 ILCS 5/7-1. Use of force in defense of a person**

2) 720 ILCS 5/7-2. Use of force in defense of dwelling**

3) 720 ILCS 5/7-3. Use of force in defense of other property**

4) 720 ILCS 24/1 et. seq. Unlawful Use of Weapons**

** Define dwelling, aggressor, forcible felony and unlawful use of weapons pursuant to the ILCS.

2. Weapon Handling

a. Handgun fundamentals

b. Handgun concealment

c. Live fire qualification instruction

d. Live fire qualification with a concealable firearm consisting of minimum of 30 rounds which must include 10 rounds from a distance of 5 yards; 10 rounds from a

distance of 7 yards; and 10 rounds from a distance of 10 yards at a B-27 silhouette target approved by the Illinois State Police.

Don't just get the minimal training. Expand your renewal class with some advanced concealed carry training. This is your opportunity to train with an experienced firearms instructor. You will get personal training as you would if you were learning to workout at the gym. We will cover all the shooting fundamentals, which is what you need to become a better shooter. We will diagnose any inconsistencies with your shooting and coach you on how to improve your shooting skills. Don't leave your training up to chance! Add the supplemental training and take advantage of in depth training to add to your defensive training plan.

There is a live fire portion that must be completed before submitting for Concealed Carry License. Proof of passing a live fire exercise including a minimum of 30 rounds, with using a B-27 silhouette target approved by the State Police. (Must hit the target with 70% of the rounds fired)

​Policies

1. Any unsafe actions will be cause for immediate disqualification from class. NO refunds given.

2. You must pass shooting qualification with 70% or above.  If you do not pass, NO refunds given.

3. Cancellation Policy - Must give 7 days notice to reschedule; your registration fee is not refundable. 

4. All training classes are non-refundable, but may be re-scheduled once with at least 7 days  notice.

5. Failure to show, or less than 7 days notice given of inability to attend, will result in a 25% rescheduling fee.
